I am excited to announce our 3rd annual Writing in the Garden retreat. The class will take place on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the home of Bev A’bear in Brainerd, MN.  My sister, author Candace Simar, will co-teach this year! The morning sessions will cover “Writing Beyond the Cliche” in scene, description and dialogue. After a break for lunch (bring a bag lunch) Candace will tell us about her publication journey (she has authored four historical fiction books). Later in the day, we will share our best writing tips!

It will be a packed day and a great value at only $45. Click on the link above to get all the details and see our schedule for the day. Space will be limited so please reserve your spot as soon as possible. Those of you who have participated in a Writing in the Garden retreat know what a productive day we will have. I promise, you will feel welcome!

Please pass this information to any writers who may be interested.

Angela, “Writing in the Garden” last week in Baxter was a great experience. I can’t believe how much important information you and Candace packed into one day, and in such a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. It was very fruitful for me. Now I’m looking forward to working with you as you edit the manuscript of my memoir. I am learning so much and am very grateful for that. Thanks again! See you soon, Liz

Liz, It was so great to have the Fergus Falls bunch at “Writing in the Garden” and I am so glad you enjoyed it. We had a great time teaching.
It was good for my writing, also. I have been writing and editing my poems all week. Farm Girls is almost ready for the publisher! I look forward to hearing from you.
